Dance Instructor

Jovan Charles (Instructor) was introduced to Gymnastics at 2 years old and tap, jazz, ballet at 5 years old.  She attended Dance Arts Studio and Lake Charles Gym & Dance.  Her first dance team was the Clifton Elite Dancers at J.D. Clifton Elementary.  Jovan was a competitive gymnast at the age of 5 and held the Miss Gymnastics Queen title.  She used her dance and tumbling skills to make the cheerleading team at Ray D. Molo and Varsity Cheerleading team at Washington Marion High School.  Her senior year she became a Dancing Doll for the Baby Marching Jukebox.  Her freshman year at Prairie View A&M University she made and lead the freshmen dance team.  Jovan acheived her teaching experience from teaching dance at Lenore Spain’s Dance Camps, attending swashbuckler and Cowgirl Kicker Camps.  Jovan loves to dance and has danced whenever an opportunity comes around.  She has danced for the River Kats football team, the Tournment of the Stars, and Gumbo Ya-Ya Mardi Gras Ball.  Jovan will continue to “Be Free and Dance Forever” in remembrance of her friend Daniel  “Deejay”  Toussant!
